Hollywood Pin-up Girl
“Hollywood Pin-up Girl” is a georgeous bay filly by the outstanding Campdrfter and sire, “Mabo” and she is out of “Hollywood Centrefold” who is by “Hollywood Showdown” (see Stallion page).
“Pin-up Girl” is a lovely quiet filly, who loves to be around people. She has a beautiful length of rein and a pretty head, however looks are not her only quality. Her sloping shoulder adds to her front end while she still has the hind end to match, with a long hip and smooth muscling, she makes a pretty picture.
Her sire “Mabo”, is by the great “Docs Freckles Oak” and is out of the wonderful “Hollywood” producing mare, in “Doc’s Baby Doll”. Mabo’s full sisters, “Oaks Stardust” & “Oaks Serene” are legends in the campdrafting world, having won countless Open Drafts and ACA Titles, with “Serene” produced the 2011 Warwick Gold Cup Winner, “Serene Acres”. “Mabo”, himself is a Open Campdraft winner, and his progeny are proving their ability in the Campdraft arena, with many winning and placing regularly throughout country, including “Chandelier Haze”(another double cross “Hollywood”) who won the 2007 Ladies Draft at the Stockhorse Nationals at Camden, NSW. Jessie Crozier and her “Mabo” mare, “Cinema” won the prestigious 2009 Grandmother Clock at Chinchilla, “Tax Return” and our own “Hollywood Chantilly”, owned by Rob Tunny and campaigned by Danny Richards as well as numerous others.
“Hollywood Centrefold” is a grandaughter of “Magnum Force”, who sired several winners in the show ring. “Centrefold’s” dam “Crystal Magnum”, is all running blood, being a grandaughter of “The Ambassador” and “Heisa Rocket”. “Centrefold’s” 3/4 sister is performing well in the show ring, with a number of wins at Halter, and Western Performance and full brother, “Showdown’s Topgun” has perfromed well at Barrel Racing and Roping. With “Centrefold” being the first filly, she was retained by the stud for breeding. She was broken in and going well before begining her breeding duties.
This filly will have speed to burn, but still have plenty of cow and a great nature to go with it. She would be a definate Challenge,Reining or Cutting Futurity prospect, and of course a definate Campdraft prospect. This filly’s 3/4 brother, “Hollywood Flashback” (see Horses Sold page) is being prepared for the Cloncurry and other Challenges. She is the only “Mabo” that we have this year, so if you want to do ‘cow’ work, do miss her.
Pin Up Girl has been broken in by Cody Stevens and has shown that her beautiful looks and temperament has not been wasted, because she is athletic, very smart and trainable as well. She has gone to a campdrafting home and her new owners have described her as, ‘ the full package’.
